Friday's Fancies: Casual Weekend

For the first time in months, I have a pretty low key weekend ahead and I can't wait! With a definite chill in the air these mornings, I'm due to spend a few hours on my closet to prepare for the transition to Autumn. Today's outfit is all about comfy casual and I've taken one of my favourite summer colours, coral, mixing it in with darker tones to give the look a more autumnal feel! These Zara flats are definitely on my must buy list!

Stop by Long Distance Loving for more weekend inspiration!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Firmoo Sunglasses

I love a good pair oversized shades and sunglasses are easily my favourite accessory! So I was delighted when Firmoo contacted me recently to check out their latest styles.

They also offer a fabulous free eyewear program which allows first-time buyers to experience Firmoo's quality products and excellent service. Simply visit to check out the great range on offer.

Here I'm wearing the full frame wraparound in classic black. I love the slightly cat eyed edges and simple detail on the sides! They are the perfect finishing touch to any outfit!

Style Star: Miranda Kerr

I'm seeking new season inspiration this week, and Miranda Kerr has once again caught my eye looking fabulous in this autumn ready outfit. I can't wait to get back into boots and I love how she has teamed hers with these skinny jeans. The berry coloured bag is also a must have!

Weekend Style..

This weekend was a busy one in my house with not one, but two birthdays - my Dad and Sister. We had a great time celebrating!

I kept my look mainly neutral for lunch yesterday, mixing things up a bit with these snake print Zara trousers. They were a recent sale find and I absolutely love them - they are so soft and easy to wear! My shoes are also Zara, the peplum top is from Warehouse and the bag was a birthday gift from my lovely friend Elaine (who knows my love of ruffles and blush so well)!

Have a great week!

Friday's Fancies: Road Trip

Happy Friday everyone!

I've missed Friday's Fancies for the past couple of weeks while I've been on holidays, so I'm very excited about today's look! With a 'Road Trip' theme, comfort is key -  so I've chosen a classic pair of jeans teamed with a casual t-shirt and simple sandles. A roomy bag is also a must for carrying all those travel essentials! Now if only I had another trip planned.... :)

Have a great weekend!

Guest Post: Long Distance Loving

Hello there! I'm {av}--the blogger behind {long distance loving} and Friday's Fancies! Laura has been a loyal linker for #FridaysFancies for many moons--so it's an absolute pleasure to appear on the pages of her blog while she's away :) Since the summer is sadly slipping away, today's theme is all about summer sunsets. I decided to do a look which could be fabulous for watching the sun go down in style...with hints of bold sunset colors included. Enjoy!

The bold fuchsia color of this Rebecca Taylor Feeling Good Dress makes it a stunner.
The best part? It would certainly make its wearer feel good ;)

I've rented these Kate Spade Statement Chandelier Earrings from Rent the Runway and
seriously want to make them mine. The sunny yellow had me smiling from a mile away!

Even after a few happy hour drinks, these Diane von Furstenberg Opal Metallic Leather Sculpted Wedge Sandals would hold you strong and steady. I'd love to have them in my rotation.

With a little extra flair, these Elizabeth and James Fairfax Sunglasses are downright perfection.

For a bold finish, this Natasha Couture Hinged Cuff is a fab and fancy addition to this get-up!
I'd love to have you join the Friday's Fancies family :) Click here to join the mailing list--you'll get all the themes in your inbox at the start of the week! Many, many thanks to Laura for having me here today...I'm so jealous of her vacay! Be sure to hop over to {long distance loving} and see all the other summer sunset ensembles. Enjoy your weekend... xoxo {av}

Guest Post: every shade of {green}

Hello lovely readers of Styled by Laura, I'm Samantha from every shade of {green} and I'm delighted that Laura asked me to entertain you all with my Summer Favourites of 2012.

When Laura first said "Summer Favourites", I instantly thought of little Summer dresses and cute sandals but then I quickly remembered that our Summer here has been less than impressive this year, so my absolute go-to items, since Spring, have been the following...

+ I have literally been living in my pastel jeans all Summer and, when paired with stripes and a navy blazer, they can easily take me from work, to dinner and then on to drinks. Nude wedges match perfectly and happen to be the only heels that I actually find comfortable enough to spend all day in!

+ My Oversized Alexa holds all my girlie essentials and the tan colour goes with almost every outfit.

+ Rayban Aviators are classic and look fab and I love my Tory Burch belt -- this is a very recent purchase but has become a daily accessory :)

+ Last but not least, I've thrown in my Louis Vuitton wrap, which is perfect for cooler days or keeping warm on flights and always looks lovely.

Thank you so much for having me today, Laura! I hope you are having a really wonderful holiday :)
Lots of love, Sam xx

Guest Post: Casual Glamorous

I'm thrilled to be guest posting for Laura while she's away on vacation!  My name is Audrey and my blog is Casual Glamorous.  Laura asked me to share my favorite summer look so I had to go with white skinny jeans.  White skinnies are a summer staple for me.  I love that they can be dressed up or dressed down and they're a great change from the classic blue denim.  On most days you can find me wearing my white skinnies with a simple grey v-neck tee, flat sandals and a few delicate rings on my finger.  They're versatile and classic which are two characteristics that I always look for when adding a new item to my wardrobe.

Guest Post: The Corner Apartment

Hello lovely readers of Styled by Laura! I'm Elizabeth of The Corner Apartment and Laura has been so sweet to ask me to step in for a guest post while she is away for a few days. Every week I do my "For the Love Of..." post which features trends and trendsetters and I'm so happy to share with you all today. I hope you enjoy!

I'm such a jewelry girl and have been collecting necklaces for a while now, so I like to do it simple elsewhere- namely on the ears- to balance it all out. I'm all about starting basic with an outfit and adding a bunch of baubles, so all of these pretty studs are right up my alley.

They're no longer limited to just a single small stone or shiny gold balls. The versatility in shape, color and materials, I believe, strongly rivals their longer dangled counterparts.

One Year!

My blog is 1 year old today!

When I started, this was just a little space for me to post some of my favourite fashion finds and I never imagined I would be here a year later with over 300 lovely readers! I'm celebrating this evening with some cupcakes and pink bubbly, which I wish I could share with all of you! Thank you all for your support and for inspiring me to continually push my creativity. Here's to another fabulous year ahead!

I'm off to Spain in the morning to soak up some sunshine for the next couple of weeks so it's goodbye for now. My blog will be left in the safe hands of some wonderful ladies, and I hope you enjoy their guest posts!

See you soon!

Friday's Fancies: T-Shirt Time

Hi Everyone!

When I heard this week's Friday's Fancies was all about the simple t-shirt, I knew straight away what kind of look I'd go for! This gorgeous shot from Elle magazine has been in my inspiration file since it was first published in February 2011. I love the simplicity of the simple tee and hot pink flowing maxi and I was only to happy to re-create the look!

Head over to Long Distance Loving for more inspiration on styling the simple tee!

Happy Friday!

Perfectly Pink...

I am beyond excited about the abundance of soft pink tones that appeared on the autumn runways! From Chanel and Chloe to Jil Sander, Dior and Emilia Wickstead - blush shades popped up all over the place in beautiful streamlined silhouettes and frothy fabrics. These are just a few of my favourite catwalk looks - perfect  inspiration for the sugary sweet season ahead!

Ad Love...

Oscar de la Renta has turned out yet another stunning advertising campaign! I can't decide which element I love the most  here - the powder perfect pastels, the opulent jewels or the flawless hair and make-up! Whilst there is a lot going on in these images - contrasting fabrics and textures, bold prints and statement jewellery - the overall look retains the signature de la Renta elegance and simplicity. Beautiful!
