Letting the dress do the talking, Kate kept her jewellery to a minimum and completed the look with a nude pair of Brian Atwood pumps. So simple, yet stunning!

Karlie Kloss is definitely the model of the moment! Having already appeared as the face of Dior Beauty and Elie Saab this Spring, here she is fronting the latest Oscar de la Renta campaign. I love the vibrancy of the colours in these shots, especially against the black and white graphic background. And how gorgeous are these retro turquoise sunglasses?!

Friday's Fancies: Blog Swap!

This week's Friday's Fancies is very exciting as it's a blog swap!

I'm delighted to welcome Deacon & McClean from Deacon Does DC to guest post on Style Notes today....

Deacon & McLean are so excited to partner with such a stylista for the Friday's Fancies blog swap! We have been coveting this luxe Vince fur cardi since we first saw it earlier this fall, and it reminds us how much we love cosy clothing on cold winter days. Of course, being in a Winter Wonderland doesn't mean sacrificing high fashion, so we've paired it with vintage earrings, great basic over the knee boots and warm-toned cranberry pants for a pop of color. We're mixing blacks and muted browns with this outfit - it's not super traditional, but we think the combo works for a look that's wintery but not too blah. When it comes to my work wardrobe, I like to team well cut tailored classics with pretty feminine pieces. Sticking to a neutral palette makes it easy to mix and match but I love to add a splash of colour at times too! When I'm in need of a work wardrobe update, Zara is always my first port of call - especially for their blazers and accessories. Other great stores for the essentials are Reiss, Mango and Warehouse.  And if I had the cash to splash, I'd definitely be investing in this gorgeous Mulberry top below - a stunning piece that would effortlessly take any outfit from day to night!

Friday's Fancies: Outfit Inspiration

Happy Friday all!

One piece that has really caught my eye across the blogosphere and pinterest over the past few months, is the sequin skirt. I especially love how some bloggers, like Jessica from Tuula, have taken a casual approach when it comes to styling. I'd never have thought of pairing a knitted sweater with sequins - thank you pinterest for opening my eyes!

Inspired by Jessica's gorgeous outfit, here's my take on the casual glam look. I've based it around blush tones for a fresh take on sequins for Spring! I'm especially loving these gorgeous ASOS heels!

Bright Lights

I'm so glad that bright colours are back on the chart again for Spring/Summer as it means I can pull out some of favourite buys from last year! This Zara blazer was a great find - I wore it with everything from jeans to a little white dress and I love the vibrant pink shade. The Dune wedges are so comfy and in one of my favourite summer hues, coral. My Penneys clutch is the perfect accessory to make any outfit pop - I might even give it a wear this weekend to add a little early Spring colour to my wardrobe :)

Prints Charming

One designer who has really caught my eye over the past few seasons at London Fashion week, is Mary Katrantzou. Since launching her label in 2008, Katrantzou has dazzled the fashion world with her digital prints and highly structured creations! The Greek born designer has also amassed a loyal celebrity following, with the likes of Alexa Chung, Keira Knightly and Anna Dello Russo all championing her designs on the red carpet. She is without a doubt one of London's biggest emerging talents and a definite one to watch!

I adore the S/S collection which is full of bright, vivid, almost 3D-like prints that nearly jump off the fabric! Equally stunning is her latest collaboration with Longchamp. Inspired by an 'East meets West' concept, these totes would be the perfect poolside companion at any resort this summer.....

Style Star: Jessica Alba

This week's Style Star has to be dedicated to The Golden Globes! 

It was hard to choose from such a fabulous lineup of leading ladies but Jessica Alba wins it for me!

She shone on the red carpet in a beautifully embellished Gucci gown and looked equally dazzling in another Gucci number at the after party. Her subtle accessories coupled with her gorgeous golden glow add the perfect finishing touch to both outfits!

Weekend Style...

Taking inspiration from my own Colour Crush post last Friday, I decided to shop my closet this weekend to incorporate something blue into my Sunday outfit! I got this swing coat in a local boutique a couple of years ago and it's such an easy piece to wear. I just added my new pair of Mary Jane heels, Sunglasses and a ruffle bag from Topshop to finish it off!

New Additions...

'Out with the old and in with the new' - that was my motto last weekend as I gave my wardrobe a good Spring clean! Here are some of my favourite new additions...

 I've been admiring coloured denims for the past few months and I can't wait to wear my new hot pink skinnies. (Forgive the lighting in the above photo for making them look red!) I'm also looking forward to embracing the chunky heel trend with my black patent Mary Janes! The clutch bag is not technically new - I bought it last year but totally forgot I had it! I'll be making sure to incorporate it into my wardrobe this season alongside a sugary sweet palette of pastels.
