J'adore Paris...

VIA

As fashion month draws to a close in Paris, here's a little outfit inspiration from the city that invented chic! I'm really looking forward to this week's shows from some of my favourite designers including Elie Saab, Chloe, Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton!

Coast Spring Summer 2012

I was delighted to get a sneak preview of the brand new Coast collection last week and let me tell you, it was dress heaven! From floor skimming maxis to cute 50s inspired prom styles - this is a collection with a dress for every shape and occasion.

In keeping with this season's explosion of colour, the collection is built around a lush palette of zesty tangerines, citrus lemons and candy pinks. Classic monochrome remains, full of graphic impact that gives traditional stripes a new lease of life. Meanwhile delicate neutrals lend a softer, more romantic feel to the collection.

Of course no summer collection would be complete without some flower power and Coast presents a delightfully mixed bunch of blooms. Roses, poppies and oriental wisteria are splashed on everything from silky shifts to playful prom dresses. Not content with print alone, the floral motif also appears as an intricate embellishment, adding texture through applique, embroidery and cutworks. This is romantic, girlie glamour at its best!

I've posted some of my favourite looks below, check out Stylefish for my full review!

Style Star: Kate Beckinsale

Kate Beckinsale is back on my Style Star radar again, wearing a fabulous jumpsuit straight off the Diane Von Furstenbery autumn runway. The vibrant berry colour is stunning on her and I love the softly draped silhouette. Gold accessories and peep toe Louboutins added just the right amount of glamour to keep this outfit from looking too relaxed.

While we are are on the topic of stylish celebs, I have to mention my Oscar favourites - Milla Jovovich, Emma Stone and Gwyneth Paltrow - three very different looks but all stunning!

Weekend Style...

This weekend I gave my staple skinny jeans an update by pairing them with a bright striped top and my new oversized tote from Zara. I've been looking for the perfect everyday bag for a while and this one is ideal for carrying around all my essentials (and more!) A navy blazer and chunky platforms completed the look.

Friday's Fancies: Hollywood Glam

Oscar fever is in the air and I can't wait to spot the style this Sunday! In the meantime, this week's Friday's Fancies is Hollywood Glam inspired and it's the perfect opportunity to showcase this stunning Ted Baker cocktail dress I have been swooning over! I love the layered tulle skirt, and the exquisite lace bodice is very Alexander McQueen. Keeping this is mind, I accessorised with a fabulous McQueen clutch along with a sparkly pair of Miu Miu heels for the finishing touch of glitz!

Accessorize All Areas

No outfit would be complete without a dip into the accessories drawer and I'm like a magpie when it comes to collecting jewellery! I love to incorporate a mixture of pieces into my looks, from cheap and cheerful high street finds to timeless, elegant investment designs. When I'm wearing warm tones I always have a stack of gold bangles to hand, as well as my rose gold Michael Kors which I rarely take off! Now and then I love to wear statement pieces like this feathered necklace below, to add a new dimension to otherwise plain outfits. This was a great find in Penneys for about €8!

This Tiffany bracelet is the newest addition to my collection and I can't wait to fill it with lots of  pretty charms. And while on the topic of Tiffany, these sunglasses might just be my favourite accessory! A pair of oversized shades is a must for adding a chic finishing touch to any outfit!

The Long & Short of it

It seems designers couldn't make up their mind between the maxi and mini this Spring, so we got the two together! As seen on the catwalks of DKNY and Jason Wu, high-low hemlines are certainly having a moment. The soft and floaty silhouette is relaxed and easy to wear, yet it still has a glamorous edge. These pieces are also really versatile and would take any look from day-to-night!

Style Star: Poppy Delevigne

I just love the Delevigne sisters! Whilst Cara is busy strutting her stuff on the autumn winter catwalks, her sister Poppy is upping the style stakes front row at all the major London shows. I loved this chic, tailored look she sported at Topshop Unique on Sunday. The polka dot trousers make such a statement yet look subtle and elegant when paired with a simple white shirt and fitted jacket. It's no wonder they have all been snapped up on Topshop online! Here's hoping they come back in soon!

Spring Knits

What to do when you are in a sunny state of mind but the temperatures are still freezing? Invest in a spring knit, of course! Championed by Jonathan Saunders for spring summer, the knitted sweater is an easy way to work this season's colour pop trend whilst keeping out the chill. Throw it on now over jeans for an instant colour hit, or pair it with with a floaty skirt on breezy summer evenings.

Here are three of my current favourites...

Friday's Fancies: Let's Fly Away!

We are flying away to sunnier climates with this week's Friday's Fancies and I couldn't be more excited! I love travelling and seeing new places, and planning a holiday is the ultimate distraction from these long dark evenings! I'm hoping to explore the stunning islands of Thailand this summer, so I've pulled together a luxe tropical inspired outfit!

I always pack at least one silky playsuit in my holiday suitcase, as they are really versatile for both day and night. If money was no object, I'd be stepping out in this Roberto Cavalli number - the print is fabulous! The Givenchy tote and Michael Kors wedges complement it perfectly and the floppy hat and oversized sunnies provide the all important finishing touch!

Happy Friday all, have a great weekend!

Style Spotting...

Just a few more looks to add to my Olivia inspiration files...

I always admire Olivia's style as she isn't afraid to mix high street with high end, nor is she averse to wearing the same pieces more than once. I love her ability to restyle these classic staples, mixing and matching them with different accessories and silhouettes, for a look that is always polished yet unique. For New York fashion week, Olivia built her outfits around fabulous fur vests, chic leather leggings, statement heels and colour popping accessories. I'm loving all of these looks below and can't wait to follow her London fashion week adventures!

Lovely Lace

With a sugary sweet palette of pastels dominating the Spring runways, this season is all about celebrating femininity and romance! And what fabric is more romantic than lace? Designers embraced it in all shapes and styles this season, from large cut out florals at Louis Vuitton to exquisitely fine designs at Erdem. There's nothing like a little frothy hued lace to bring a girly, elegant touch to any outfit! Here are a few favourites I've spotted in the shops recently...

Ad Love...

Karlie Kloss might not be walking at New York Fashion week this season, but she sure is racking up the spring ad campaigns! With Dior, Elie Saab and Oscar de la Renta under her belt, her latest starring role is in the new Spring lookbook for the luxury Americana Manhasset shopping centre.

I love the kitsch, 1950's inspired theme which sees Karlie showcasing looks by a host of designers from Prada and Chanel to Tory Burch and Michael Kors. She looks just like a barbie doll!

Victoria Beckham looked amazing as she emerged to a rapturous applause, following her latest runway show in New York.
