The weather has been absolutely freezing but I was determined to get into my pastel colours for the races over the weekend! I didn't get too many pictures with the wind and rain but here are a couple i snapped before leaving on Friday!

Friday's Fancies: Date Night

It's Date Night on Friday's Fancies and for me, it's all about the dress and heels! 

Nothing is more romantic than lace and I love the peplum on this gorgeous Zara dress. My dream pair of Louboutins, teamed with a contrasting Charlotte Olympia perspex clutch, complete the look!

Out To Play!

The weather has been monsoon like this week but I'm turning a blind eye and keeping focused on summer!

Playsuits are my go to summer pieces and I love how they can be dressed up or down just by changing accessories or shoes. Any of these three would look gorgeous teamed with flat sandals by day and a pair of sky high wedges after dark!

Style Star: Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad is in the style star spotlight today, and she is definitely one of my favourite fashionistas! Whether she is dressed to impress on the red carpet or going casual on a Saturday stroll, LC always looks perfectly put together! Skinny jeans, feminine blouses and floaty dresses are all staple pieces in this California girl's enviable closet.

The Coveteur gave us a peek into Lauren's home recently and it looks just as fabulous as I had expected. Hers is one closet I would definitely love to raid!

Winning Style...

COAST SPRING SUMMER 2012

Racing season has officially begun and it's one of my favourite times of the year. It's as much about the fashion as it is the horses on the track and there's something so fun and glamorous about dressing up during the day!

The Punchestown Festival kicks off today and it's an event I go to every year. It's always a great day out and a very glamorous affair! I love admiring the sea of colour and spectacular hats on Ladies Day! Occasion wear specialists, Coast are on board as sponsors this year with a fabulous prize for the most stylish lady. The lucky winner and a friend will be whisked away on a jet-set shopping spree to Coast stores in New York, London and Madrid! What's more, she will also be treated to €1000 to spend in each stylish city! Definitely a prize worth daydreaming about....

While I have yet to decide on my outfit for this Friday, here's one from a previous year!

New Additions...

I'm still waiting for the warm weather to arrive but my spring wardrobe is shaping up nicely! I've been picking up lots of colourful pieces lately and just looking at them is enough to brighten up my Monday morning. Hopefully I'll get to wear them soon!

Another day, another designer/high street collaboration! 

Olivia Rubin for Dorothy Perkins is one I'm seriously excited about! Her designs first caught my eye about 3 years ago and I have loved the vivid prints and feminine silhouettes ever since. The soon to launch 'Postcards From' collection for Dorothy Perkins is inspired by summer fun and carefree holidays! Whimsical bird prints, soft chiffons, floaty peplums and pops of pink combine to form the ultimate girly wardrobe. The collection is available in stores and online from next Tuesday and it's sure to be a sell out!

Style Star: Frieda Pinto

Frieda Pinto rocks pastels and Prada's kitsch car print in this cute shift dress! I love the soft sheen of the fabric against her skintone but it's the bold print that accelerates this dress to Style Star status! Gorgeous glossy locks and a powder blue clutch complete the look.

Weekend Style..

I bought this blazer last summer in Zara and it has fast become one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe. It's great for adding an instant pop of colour to any outfit! I've given it a fresh lease of life this Spring by pairing it with stripes and my new espadrille wedges from Penneys. These are really comfortable and a great height for everyday - they will be much loved this summer!

Friday's Fancies: Pretty in Pastels

It's a pastel party today for this week's sugary sweet round of Friday's Fancies! Pretty pales popped up all over the catwalks this season and I loved the combination of sorbet hues that made up the 3.1 Phillip Lim S/S collection. Needless to say I was thrilled to come across this Lim inspired top at Mint Velvet, for a fraction of the price!

 While I love the relaxed minimal feel of this collection, I don't think I'd pull off the slouchy pants! Instead I've kept the look tailored with a skinny pair of trousers from Reiss and some gorgeous bow front Carvela courts!

Style Star: Jessica Alba

I love Jessica Alba's casual style and she looked picture perfect in Spring florals on Easter Sunday! I picked up a similar style maxi dress in H&M last summer, and I'll definitely be taking style tips from Jessica by pairing it with a denim jacket or waistcoat the next time I wear it! The whole look is cool, casual and effortlessly chic!

Raf Simons: From Jil Sander to Dior

After months of speculation and endless rumours, Raf Simons has finally been confirmed as the new artistic director of Dior. His final collection for Jil Sander was one of my favourite A/W 2012 shows - I loved the pastel simplicity and mimimalist femininity of each and every look!

Speaking about his new appointment Simons said, "I am thrilled to join this great house..the house of Dior is the symbol of absolute elegance!"

Simons debut collection will be met with much excitement during couture week in Paris this July! I can't wait to see what direction he will take with the label!

 Karlie Kloss and Eddie Redmayne sizzle in the Ibiza sunshine in this lush editorial from the December 2011 issue of Vogue. Shot by Mario Testino, it's perfect inspiration for summer - especially during this freak cold  spell we are currently experiencing!
