Trend: Gatsby Glamour

The 1920s revival is without a doubt one of this year's fashion highlights. With the imminent release of The Great Gatsby, the Spring collections embraced elements of the Jazz Age with glamorous splendour! The key to mastering this trend lies in luxury embellishments, like the beading seen at Gucci or the fabulous Ralph Lauren feathers. A neutral colour palette keeps the look soft and feminine while glitzy heels add a perfect dash of sparkle! I can't wait to see the film and all the fabulous outfits!

Weekend Style..

I gave my new Zara lace trousers an outing this weekend, keeping the look casual with a denim shirt and peep toe wedges. My neon bubble necklace added a much needed dose of colour to a dull, grey day!

Friday's Fancies: Colour Block

There's a rainbow of colour over on Friday's Fancies this week, blocked colour to be precise!

 I had to go with my all time favourite pink and coral combination! It's bold, vibrant and perfect for summer. This season's myriad of coloured denim makes colour blocking a breeze. Simply pick a colour, add a contrasting tank top and you're good to go!

Looks to Love...

It seems like I have a new favourite Resort collection each week but the standard has been amazing this season! Matthew Williamson's 2013 collection is the latest to catch my eye, oozing with bright colours and vibrant prints. The silhouette is clean and tailored with a heavy focus on form fitting skirts and dresses, along with tailored shorts and fitted jackets. Never one to pass up a touch of embellishment, Williamson presents a fabulous offering for evening, adorned in feathers and intricate fringing.

It's not often that I see a collection where I could see myself wearing every piece but this one certainly ticks all the boxes. I might not have the budget to shop it all, but I'll definitely be taking inspiration to re-create some of these looks!

Accessories are perfect for adding a dash of colour to any outfit and I'd happily enjoy opening my bag to see one of these fabulous wallets shining back at me! The selection at Ted Baker is my favourite, with a rainbow of colours to choose from and gorgeous gold detailing. They are almost too cute to keep hidden away and could easily pass as a clutch on a night out. I just need to learn how to pack lighter... :)

I loved putting together this week's fancies, as there is so much style inspiration to be found in the blogosphere! I have been on the lookout for a pleated skirt for the past few weeks and I love how the gorgeous Annabelle from Viva Luxury has styled hers below. I think this lemon skirt from Oasis is perfect for re-creating the look and it's a gorgeous summery colour. Plus it's on sale at the moment so I might just have to treat myself...

Another day, another fabulous round of Resort looks to love! When these Chloe images hit Style.com, it was love at first sight. The look for 2013 is easy, breezy and perfectly feminine. I love the soft neutral colour palette mixed with the relaxed, floaty sihouettes. Little details like scalloped edges and gentle draping add that extra special feminine touch!

The tribal trend is never far from the summer catwalks and this season it was given a truly modern twist at Donna Karan, Burberry and Michael Kors. This look is all about wild animal prints mixed with raffia elements and a neutral colour palette of khaki, sand and beige. Peplum Style

I've finally bought my first peplum top, after admiring the trend for the past few months! This H&M number is a great fit and really easy to wear. Teamed with a pair of black skinny trousers, it's the ideal work outfit. I'm also looking forward to wearing it with a pencil skirt when the weather improves a bit!

Friday's Fancies: Short & Sweet

Hi everyone! 

Although it looks like it's going to be a wet weekend in this part of the world, it's still summer in my mind! I'm so glad I have holidays to look forward to and outfits to plan! And no holiday would be complete with some great shorts. Day or night they can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion. By playing with colours and adding statement accessories, it's easy to make one key piece go the distance! 

Taking these pastel perfect shorts from Warehouse, I've added pretty earrings by Dori Csengeri and a bright pair of Kurt Geiger heels for an ultra glam evening look. Meanwhile, a tribal print Oasis top paired with flat Musa sandals gives the shorts a relaxed feel, ideal for shopping trips or daytime exploring!

With new resort collections appearing online every day, I have been spoiled for choice with fabulous inspiration this week! Burberry is always a favourite and this collection offers great ideas for dressing in between seasons. I love the layered looks and the neutral colour palette. Of course it goes without saying that the trenches are stunning too, I would love to invest in one some day!

Style Star: Charlize Theron

Along with the little black dress and the little white dress, a little red dress is also a must have classic piece in any closet. Charlize Theron wore hers beautifully at the MTV Movie Awards over the weekend. The peplum detailing on this Lanvin piece is right on trend and very figure flattering. I love the elegance and simplicity of the whole look!

Weekend Style..

Inspired by all the gorgeous white ensembles in last week's Friday's Fancies, I pulled out my trusty little white dress for cocktails with the girls last night! I got this in French Connection about two years ago, and have worn it with so many different colour combinations for a unique look every time. This weekend I went for pink, accessorizing with my new H&M sparkly clutch and my favourite hot pink heels!
