Statement shades at Versace | Hot pink heels at Gucci | Gold box clutch at Emilio Pucci | Asymmetrical cut Lace at Salvatore Ferragamo | Sequin overload at Fendi

All eyes are on Paris over the next few days, as some of the most anticipated Spring collections take to the runway to see out fashion month in style. I'm very excited to see what Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, McQueen and Elie Saab have in store for 2013.

In the meantime, I've been putting together some highlights from the Milan shows. Fendi and Salvatore Ferragamo were definitely my favourites! What were yours?

Friday's Fancies: Outfit Crush

There's nothing I love more in autumn than layering up with cosy knitwear and oversized scarves! This look caught my eye a few months ago and I've been waiting eagerly to re-create it come Fall! I'm loving this drape coat from Oasis and might just have to add it to my wardrobe this weekend...it's the perfect transitional piece!

Have a great weekend!

Another lady who is always on my style radar during fashion month is the fabulous Miroslava Duma!

Falling For: Boots

The latest part of my 'Falling For' series is all about the boots! I'm hoping to invest in a few new pairs this season, in the form of tan knee highs and a comfy wedge for casual daywear. I always like to spend a little more on a quality pair of boots that are guaranteed to last the season and beyond. They get so much wear over the winter months and must be able to withstand the harsh elements! These are just a few styles that I have spotted so far...I'll be sure to update you all when I've made my final decision!

Weekend Style

Happy Monday all!
After a very relaxed weekend, I'm feeling refreshed and energised for the week ahead. It was nice to feel autumn in the air over the past few days and I'm excited to be back wearing cosy knits! This tunic from H&M was perfect for a Sunday stroll, teamed with comfy leggings and flat pumps. The pop of coral added just enough colour to an otherwise neutral look.

Have a great week!

Coat Time!

Happy Saturday everyone! After a very busy week, I'm so excited for a quiet weekend! As today is officially the first day of autumn, and the temperatures outside have definitely dropped, now is the perfect time invest in a new winter coat. Catherine from Very.co.uk has all the coat shopping tips you need...

It’s always a challenge to pick the right coat. There’s so many to choose from and they’re all so different, so here are some things to consider that may hopefully steer you in the right direction:

Good Quality Material
You want to ensure that the material your coat is made from is of a good quality so that it isn’t likely to rip or tear. You ideally want something quite thick but lightweight to ensure that you don’t have to keep replacing your coat as this can be costly and expensive. In addition, it is probably best to choose a coat made from waterproof material, just in case you are caught in a shower.

Pockets
Before buying your coat you may want to weigh up whether you would like it to have pockets or not. Some people find having deep pockets with fastenings particularly useful, while others don't think that it’s necessary. As these are not something that you can add on to a coat after purchase, you may want to think about this before you buy.

Fastenings
You may want to think about the way that you would like your coat to fasten, if at all. Some womens coats have a single button, meaning that these do not keep you as warm as a coat with a zip would do. In addition, it also means that your outfit underneath can be seen so you would have to ensure that your outfit and coat matched. A zip on the other hand, would keep you warm and is also a secure fastening.

Hood/No Hood
You need to assess whether you would like your coat to have a hood or not as this cannot be changed once you have purchased your coat. Having a hood can be useful when it rains but if you are not someone who uses a hood frequently then you may prefer to choose a coat with a collar instead.

Style
You need to think about what exactly you will be wearing your coat for in order to be able to decide what style of coat you want. If you just want something for everyday jobs, something such as a duffle coat or windcheater may be a good choice but if you would prefer something more classy and sophisticated, a trench coat may be a good coat for you.

Falling For...

When the temperatures drop, I always look forward to adding a few new knits to my wardrobe! Any of the above would look gorgeous layered with skinny jeans, knee high boots and a chunky scarf - my go to look for autumn days!

New York Fashion Week: Highlights

Happy Monday all!

Another week of spring fashion awaits, as the London shows are now in full swing. As New York drew to a close, it was easy to spot some early trends with lots of monochrome, more peplum and leather for spring, and an abundance minimalist sporty silhouettes.

Here are a few of my highlights.

Autumn Style....

Zara has been my go to all summer for coloured jeans - I've got so much wear out of my mint, orange and cream skinnies, that it was only right to go back and stock up on some autumnal shades! First up is this khaki green pair, which are a great staple to wear with blacks or creams. I also gave my brand new Michael Kors bag its first outing today. It has been wrapped up in its box since my birthday in July, but now that autumn is here, it will be getting lots of use as it goes with everything!

Falling For...

In contrast to this season's favourite burgundy hue, soft shades of pink were also a hit on the autumn runways. No-one did it more beautifully than Raf Simons at Jil Sander, whose dreamy coats were an instant hit with fashion editors and celebrities alike! Since I pulled together my perfectly pink runway favourites in this post, I've been looking out for similar soft shades as they hit the shops. Here are a few of my current favourites...

Style Star: Kelsey Chow

In last week's Style Star I was crushing over Mollie Mackintosh's leather leggings and today it's all about Kelsey Chow's shorts. I spied her in the crowd whilst watching the DKNY show stream on Sunday and this outfit instantly caught my eye! Leather shorts are definitely not easy to pull off, but the length and cut of these are perfect. I also love how she has toned down the look with a silky blouse in this season's hottest hue, burgundy.

Olivia Style...

It wouldn't be fashion week without a little Olivia style stalking, so here's the first round of outfits I love! She looked chic and elegant at Valentino for Fashion's Night Out, and lit up the front row at the Noon by Noor show in these fabulous leopard print shorts! What I love most though, is her flawless make-up and glossy locks - she looks amazing!

Perfect inspiration for a new week!

Happy Monday!

New York, New York

All eyes are on New York today as we get a first glimpse at the Spring collections, and I'm so excited to see what trends emerge for 2013. I'll be following as much as I can through the live online streams and twitter commentary, whilst virtually imagining I'm there :) If you haven't bookmarked it already, be sure visit Catwalklive.tv for all the latest streaming schedules and pre-show reminders!

With New York in mind, today's look is all about simple chic lines teamed with statement accessories. I'm loving these berry coated jeans I found in Wallis and will most definitely be purchasing them!

Ad Love...

Accessories are the easiest way to update your wardrobe for a new season, and it's looking good this autumn at H&M. I've got the pink glittery clutch already and it has fast become one of my favourite go-to bags for a night out! Looking forward to checking out the rest of the collection!

Falling For...

In the second part of my Falling For series, it's all about luxurious leather! I loved the way leather was worked into this season's collections, especially at DKNY. Whether used as an accent on panelled sleeves, or brought up to the minute in this season's hottest berry tones, there was a leather look to suit all tastes. These are some inspired pieces that I'd love  to add to my wardrobe this fall...
