Because She's Worth It...

L'Oreal has a new lady and it's none other than the gorgeous Blake Lively!
Announced at an exclusive event in Paris last night, Blake will take on the role of brand ambassador from 2014.

Can we take a moment to admire her stunning dress? Not to mention that hair...

I think Blake is a perfect fit for the brand. She rarely puts a foot wrong on the red carpet with elegant styling and flawless, yet simple hair and make up. I'm definitely having Gossip Girl withdrawal symptoms and can't wait to see her back on our screens again as the face of L'oreal.

To celebrate, here's a round up of some of my favourite Blake looks from earlier on this year!

Halloween is Almost Here!

Good morning! Let's get this week started with a little Halloween inspiration, shall we?

Pinterest is at its best around holiday periods and I came across some really fun ideas over the weekend! Here are a few of my favourites.

1) Decorating pumpkins is nothing new, but I love seeing the different variations every year. These ones are so creative!

2) This is possibly the cutest costume ever for a mini fashionista!

3) Ghoulish strawberry treats

4) I love a themed cocktail and there are plenty of fun recipes to try here. The Spicy Vampire sounds particularly good!

5) Not technically Halloween, but how could I resist this glittery leaf garland DIY.

Have a great week!

Mollie Loves Oasis

You can tell it has been a busy week when I'm only getting around to blogging on a Friday evening.

But I'm back in action and bursting with excitement over the fabulous new collection from Oasis, curated by
my favourite Saturday, Mollie King! As a huge fan of both Mollie and Oasis, this is a match made in fashion heaven. The 45 piece collection is stunning and Mollie wears it with such style!

Commenting on the launch, Mollie said 'For my first edit, I wanted to select key trend pieces for the season that I truly love. I think I’ve chosen a perfect day-to-night selection and have had so much fun along the way! Fashion is about how you wear things, how you put them together and of course how much fun you have doing it. I just can’t wait to see it in the shops and for all my friends to start buying it!’

I can't wait to buy it either Mollie! The question is, which piece should I get first? :)

Friday's Fancies: Skinny Jeans

3 cheers for Friday! I'm really looking forward to some down time this weekend.

Saturdays for me are all about staple skinny jeans!
A little bit of sparkle to add some flair and a soft mix of  pink and grey make this a go-to look for easy weekend style! Perfect for a lunch date!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Milan Fashion Week: Runway Round Up

Hi all. I've got an special guest post lined up for today from writer at Missguided, Olivia Golding.

Hope you enjoy! Olivia, take it away....

The SS14 fashion weeks are all now sadly over. It’s not all doom and gloom however, as there were plenty of smokin’ hot trends to take away from each show. Now, the Italians are renowned for their sultry sexiness, so where better to turn to for style inspiration? Let’s take a look at the Milan Fashion Week offering – I’m already super excited for next spring just thinking about the gorgeous trends on display. Here is your runway round up from MFW.

Rock chick – Versace
In contrast to the usual skin tight clothes shown by Donatella Versace’s models, the designer opted this time for street-inspired fluidity, with a collection of vamped up every day fabrics to deliver the statement style she is so renowned for.

The designer said: “I think at the moment it’s all about easy things to wear; women love to wear jeans and a T-shirt so I want to give these ordinary things the status of luxury.” – Couldn’t have put it better myself!

The Versace collection featured tough girl leather biker jackets, platform strappy sandals and metallic chains. With under tones of fabrics such as silk slip dresses and T-shirts, Versace brought a more delicate, softer style to a look that heavily underpins the ultimate rock chick.

Sporty elements
Casual and sporty highlights were seen across the shows from the likes of Marni, Gucci, Trussardi, Antonio Marras, and Prada. But for 2014, the aim is not to go all-out sporty. Rather, incorporating sporty elements will help to tone down a smarter, more elegant look. Think sports luxe bomber jackets teamed with clean lined, tailored trousers. Work the trend yourself with this Chicago print oversized tee from Missguided. Wear with leggings and add skyscraper heels to finish. Don’t be afraid to inject pops of bright colour into your outfits – use the smarter, tailored pieces to add a touch of feminine demure and classic elegance to an otherwise casual approach.

Do it like a dude!
Over at Salvatore Ferragamo’s show, the message was one of strong masculinity. Think sharp and tailored with a twist of femininity brought together with the likes of suit jackets and blazers teamed with a mini kilt skirt and the strappy high heeled sandals seen everywhere this year at MFW.

There’s no question that women can do everything a man can do and more, and Ferragamo’s collection for SS14 is definitely one for the strong-willed, empowered woman. Keep hair and make-up simple and natural looking and let your inner dude(ette) shine through.

Primary colour blocking – Prada
A far cry away from the sleek, single toned Ferragamo pieces, the Prada SS14 collection was jam packed full of eye-popping bright colours. 70s inspired colour blocking could be seen along with an eye-watering clash of primary colours red, blue and yellow. This loud and proud statement vision was not aimed to shock, but to stand out from the crowd.

Indeed, when you take a closer look, the collection is full of timeless classic shapes and styles, including envelope shoulder bags, kilts and polo neck jumpers. Once again, the perfect blend of sleek and sporty adds a touch of sophistication to the everyday casual look.

What’s your favourite trend from Milan Fashion Week?

Thanks so much to Olivia for filling in for me today. I love the quote from Donatella and the Salvatore Ferragamo dute(ette) inspiration! Oh and those shoes :)

Falling For...The Luxe Look

When it comes to autumn attire, this combination has to be my favourite ever. I just love the contrast of buttery soft leather with cosy knitwear - it's the ultimate casual chic look, demonstrated perfectly here by Andreea Diaconu!

Weekend Style...

I was so happy to tick this Oasis coat off my Wishlist last week! It was perfect for bundling up in and keeping me warm on my trip to Kildare Village. I went along to check out the beautiful new Mulberry store...and left with an even longer wishlist than I started out with! Christmas is coming... :)

Friday's Fancies: Celebrate!

If there was a dress to sum up the Friday feeling, this would be it - pink, sparkly and FUN!
Since we are celebrating a whopping 150 Friday's Fancies posts with {av} today, I've kept the whole look sparkly with  glistening drop earrings from Anjolee, glittering Jimmy Choo heels and a gemtastic clutch from Coast!

Now, who's for cocktails?
I'm looking forward to some tomorrow night to celebrate my friend's birthday!

Have a fabulous weekend

Weekend Style...

Hi! Hope you all had a great weekend.
I broke out my winter florals for a quick shopping trip yesterday afternoon. These are from Zara and I love them! I teamed them with a cosy knit yesterday but they could equally work for evening with a leather jacket and pointy heels. Meanwhile I was so excited to finally track down this coat - I can't wait to wear it!
