Pointy stilettos are having a moment this season! I was always a round toe, platform girl but lately I'm loving these chic courts. They add an instant dose of glamour to any outfit and they are stunning with skinny jeans - as showcased to perfection here by Miranda Kerr and Lily Aldridge! I've recently purchased these ones from Zara and I know they will be my go-to heel for work this Spring. They are surprisingly comfy too, which is always a plus :)
There are so many pretty dresses in the shops at the moment and I'm loving the abundance of floral prints! Any of these dresses would be perfect for an Easter brunch (weather permitting!) A girl can dream...
Oh yes it's Olivia's turn to feature in Style Star again, giving us some much needed inspiration for cold weather dressing in Spring! Take her lead by layering up, mixing in some print and adding a splash of colour. Who said bundling up had to be boring? This outfit is the perfect pick-me-up for freezing days!
H&M have done it again! Everything about the new Conscious Exclusive collection is stunning. From floor sweeping dresses to sharp separates and striking accessories, the overall look is so elegant and chic. I just hope some of these pieces land in a H&M near me on April 4th!
I'm glad it's a long weekend and I'm enjoying a relaxing day off. It has been one busy week with lots happening at work, One Direction and Girls Aloud concerts and my sister's Confirmation day last Friday!
It may have looked like Spring but didn't feel it, as it was freezing! Never one to be put off by the weather, I was determined to give my new coral dress an outing. We even braved a few photos outside :)
I've got a bit behind on my blogging this week, with a hectic but exciting work schedule! I'll be back before the weekend and look forward to catching up on all of your posts. In the meantime, I'm delighted to welcome Catherine today, to share the latest trends for Jackets this Spring. I'm loving the striped number below :)
It may seem hard to believe but warmer weather is on the way! Spring marks the return of the sunshine but it can still be quite chilly, making it the perfect time to top off your outfits with this year’s must have jackets. Here are some of the highlights, as seen on the catwalks and on your favourite celebs.
Hot pink It seems that some of the world’s hottest designers were inspired by the springtime cherry blossom, as 2013′s biggest spring trend is set to be hot pink jackets. Phillip Lim, Chado Ralph Rucci, and Oscar de la Renta all sent their models down the runway in a range of smart and casual hot pink blazers. Cropped Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Chloe set the tone at Paris Fashion Week when they dressed their catwalk models in cropped jackets. While some models were showing off a bit of toned tummy, if you don’t have a size 0 figure, don’t despair – simply wear the cropped jacket over a long top for an edgy, on trend look. Denim Denim jackets have been edging their way back into the fashion consciousness for years, and 2013 is their time to shine. They look great over florals, as the finishing touch to a punky outfit with a black skirt and band t-shirt, or with cowboy boots and a beige dress for a wild west look. You can find a denim jacket at very.co.uk to match whatever look you want to go for. Black blazers Blazers are also back in a big way for Spring 2013, with black blazers in particular really coming into their own. Award winning actress Anne Hathaway sported one as she stood up for women’s rights recently at a One Billion Rising event, while stunning supermodel Miranda Kerr opted for a black blazer for a trip to a nail salon. The black blazer is clearly versatile, and the fashion world has certainly taken note.
It was around this time last year that H&M surprised us all with their Red Carpet collection, and now they are hitting the runways! When I heard that they were set to make their fashion week debut in Paris, I was excited to see what they had to offer.
The show didn't disappoint, with an impressive set and models of the moment Cara Delevigne, Isabeli Fontana and Joan Smalls leading the way. The front row was also sparkling - with the likes of Ashley Olsen, Emma Roberts and Chloe Moretz sitting pretty.
The collection itself combined tailored shapes with delicate dresses and statement outerwear, while knitwear remained a strong focus throughout. I loved the over-the-knee boots and layered looks!
What are your thoughts on seeing high street fashion on the runway? I think it was quite refreshing and nice to see things being mixed up a bit! Emma Roberts put it perfectly saying,
"I love a good high-low.It's so cool when someone is wearing vintage, with H&M and a Dior bag. That's what fashion is all about."
What would fashion month be without Miss Palermo? I've loved following her adventures over the past few weeks! From blizzards in New York to the early days of spring in Paris, Olivia has effortlessly managed to adapt her look to the the signature style of each city she has landed in. Her hair is also looking amazing lately - love those soft waves!
